Business Development Director

Responsible for supporting corporate development and projects, processes and transactions within the responsibility of the Vice President Business Development including financings, mergers & acquisitions, divestments, investments, joint ventures and other partnering opportunities. An industry leader for over 30 years with a rich history of success, process, product innovation in electronics, renewable energy, high voltage transmission, and more.


The following are examples of duties and responsibilities but are not intended to define the limits of required duties:

  • Develop and maintain critical financial models to support various projects and transactions
  • Develop and support all economic, valuation and commercial analysis related to projects
  • Prepare investor, marketing materials and other due diligence materials related to the company, its industries and business lines
  • Manage due diligence processes
  • Lead and support negotiation and preparation of transaction documentation as required
  • Conduct industry and company-specific research and evaluations relevant to the firm’s business lines and competitors, report on topics such as industry-specific developments and trends
  • Manage and co-ordinate with 3rd party consultancy resources including financial advisors, legal/tax advisors and other specialty advisors when required related to various projects
  • Co-ordinate with financiers, investors, partners, customers, suppliers, governmental development agencies in order to achieve goals
  • Manage or participate in cross-functional project teams, inside and outside the firm
  • Evaluate and present opportunities to management team related to opportunities
  • Build and manage internal and external relationships within industry to develop a solid network of information in order to achieve goals


Must have demonstrated knowledge and abilities in these areas. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • MBA preferred; requires a minimum of a Bachelor Degree and five (5) to ten (10) years relevant experience; experience in an investment banking or similar consultancy environment preferred particularly in project finance
  • Experience in the energy or infrastructure sector, specifically solar energy and other alternative energy preferred; international business experience in particular Asia experience preferred
  • Must be skilled at financial modeling and trend analysis
  • Experienced at developing effective and influential relationships within and outside the company to achieve goals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint are essential
  • Must be able to travel within the US and internationally as required
  • Must be flexible in order to co-ordinate with others based in international locations and multiple time zones given the global nature of the company’s business
  • Must possess superior analytical and interpersonal skills and overall strong communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Must demonstrate a desire to perform a variety of tasks and demonstrate leadership abilities, while under both time pressure
  • Must be capable of managing teams of multiple disciplines that do not have a direct reporting relationship into the incumbent
  • Must be able to clearly formulate and understand key strategic issues
  • Self-starter, able to plan and execute aggressive, yet detailed work plans
