  • Has overseen EPC and O&M lines of business for an energy services provider, resulting in 15 projects generating over $270M in revenue and 325 MW in generating capacity, analyzing and qualifying hundreds of prospective thermal and renewable power projects
  • Held full P&L responsibility for over 1500 MW of natural gas and oil-fired power generation assets in multiple markets with varying operating profiles, leading the interaction of all stakeholders and all project agreements from acquisition through divestiture
  • Managed 75 concurrent project bid considerations with a total value over $2B, incorporating and aggregating scope and cost inputs from internal company divisions, partners, subcontractors, and developers
  • Produced full pro forma models to validate project viability and identify cash flow constraints at both the overall project and corporate levels
  • Drove negotiations of major terms (scope, price, schedule, warranty, performance guarantees, etc.) among the key stakeholders of all parties (financial, technical, and legal)

  • 23 years of derivatives trading experience in foreign currency, equity, physical and financial natural gas, base and precious metals, agriculture, livestock and dairy trading, correlation and commodity linked notes as well as crude and refined products.
  • Profitable track record across multiple commodity asset classes. Proven success in new business development all the while continuing to be an active market participant and leading by example to a very successful peer group.
  • 15 years of experience trading physical and financial natural gas and derivatives in both environments with Texaco, Aquila and Sempra. Utilizing option strategies to maximize value from a natural gas storage  portfolio.
  • Demonstrated ability to transition through numerous commodity platforms, provide a strong leadership role, engage hands-on in all day to day trading activity and achieve profitability.

Business Development / M&A, Vice President

This candidate is an 18-year veteran of the electric power industry with deep knowledge and experience in business development, M&A, project finance and strategy for both utility-scale and renewable/distributed generation.  The candidate has an MBA from a top-20 business school and has led transactions worth well over $1 billion.  Key accomplishments include:

  • Successfully developed and closed over 25 solar projects, totaling over 25 MW, by interfacing directly with C-level executives.
  • Led and closed a 1,900 MW, four-power plant portfolio acquisition and $500 million debt facility.
  • Developed renewable acquisition and growth strategy for a $20 billion global independent power producer (IPP).
  • Successfully led divestiture transactions totaling over 2,000 MW for the unregulated IPP subsidiary of the largest utility company in the U.S.

Senior Energy Executive

A senior energy executive with a strong track record of operations, asset management, commercial and technical leadership domestically and internationally in the power industry seeking to join a power generation company in a senior operations or asset management role.

  • Over 30 years of experience in the energy industry. In his most recent roles he built high performing operating teams of up to 150 staff to run the day-to-day operations and business activities of both union and non-union operated power, water, compressed air and electric distribution facilities. 
  •  Previously held the position of Vice President – Power Asset Management for Direct Energy, a Centrica company, aided in acquiring and managed a fleet of combinedcycle plants that provided approximately 1,400 Mw in the Texas retail market. Additionally, provided the asset management for Direct Energy’s 800 Mw of wind off-take contracts Built an organization focused on execution and delivery; expecting and achieving sustainable “best in class” performance from operating merchant plants and wind farms.
  •  Deep understanding of the importance of the economic value of availability, reliability, and maintainability for an equipment owner and operator in today’s competitive global energy market.
  •  Has a broad and varied experience, including structured finance and portfolio management with GE Capital Services where he managed a $1 billion portfolio. He has direct operating and General Management experience with various operating companies and cogeneration facilities; PG&E Generating Company, US Generating Company, J. Makowski Company, Selkirk Cogen partners and TBG Cogen Partners.
